Commissioning a piece of handmade furniture can sometimes seem a bit of a daunting prospect. It doesn’t have to be though. It all starts with an idea that you have for a piece of furniture.
Once we’ve made contact I will suggest we get together for an informal meeting so we can talk about your idea. I will need to take accurate measurements and see the environment your piece of furniture will live in. We will also discuss timescale, budget and materials.
I will then take these ideas and work up some sketch designs and initial costings and send them to you. On approval, final designs are drawn up in AutoCAD. Costs, materials and timescales are also agreed. The initial deposit of 30% is paid.
When your commission is under way in the workshop I will always welcome you to visit, to see your piece coming together, or I can email photos to you.
When complete, I will arrange delivery and installation and final payments can be settled.
